Outstanding Album "Couleur Café"
Whoever expects the group’s name to call for some phoney cultic sounds must find himself disappointed.
There is no hype presented, but captivating and refined music. African (Cameroon)
influences with a jazzy-funky-swinging-arabesque, earthy, virtuoso and very
rhythmic, mostly acoustic, mostly unplugged and pretty authentic. Great touch of
African music, with oriental, Caribbean and south-American flair, and not to forget
the influence of musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, James Brown, Medjo
Mesom Jakob, just to name a few...!
No stew with little pieces of internationalism, but personal and authentic all the way
through. Natural musicality, virtuosity and a great deal of creativity are melting here
into a sound that reaches everyone far beyond cultural – or age barriers. Rhythms
and melodies, power and grace. Music for people who want more than just survive.
Contemporary music from the roots!
